Frog table
by Hella Jongerius.
Creation of an office consisting of a table and a frog in solid walnut. The rear surface of the frog is covered with a coloured resin glaze, while the wood is treated with a natural-looking varnish. The realism of animals is scientific, the materials used for these works of Haute-cabinet making are remarkable. The Frog table, made of solid wood, has an almost liquid-like grey resin finish, which is soft to touch and yet cold at the same time. Seduction-repulsion, the presentation to which Hella Jongerius submits us is troubling, it makes design an exercise of transgression, which invites all manner of fantasies and questions the codes and stances of a society that has lost its innate sense of nature.
